THE CHALLENGE

A complete reimagining of the villa elevation, interiors and landscaping to create a contemporary home with unique character and style.

THE SOLUTION

The original architectural design with its profusion of arches was given a sleek, streamlined makeover with the façade reclad in a modern style, balconies added for balance, windows enlarged, and the door extended to double height. A customised ducting system featuring a curved modular design provided welcome ceiling height, while entryway structural columns were elevated with sculptural detail and subtle lighting effects. Clean minimalism paired with luxury was the foundation of the interiors brief, with white walls a specific client request, to gallery spotlight his personal art collection. The chosen monochrome colour palette was layered with colour as seen in the various artworks, antique carpets, and select furniture pieces. A dedicated library-cum-cigar room with a contemporary-retro feel ticks the boxes as an ultra-personal relaxation space.

INSIDER INSIGHT

Angular ceiling lines were replaced with soft curves to become a unique ceiling design detail while cleverly concealing the homes ducting system.

Bespoke furniture pieces and lighting were imported from Italy with Greek Thassos marble utilised for specific flooring areas.

Personalised spaces reflect homeowner’s hobbies and character. including a cosy man cave with rainwater feature curtain and gym, with the treadmill angled to make the most of the exterior landscaping.

A state-of-the-art smart home system delivers full automation capabilities, from opening and closing of window blinds to temperature control and entertainment speakers.

His ‘n’ hers full room walk-in closets are connected via a master washroom, with the central island featuring a built-in revolving watch drawer.

The show kitchen is integrated with the living spaces via bi-folding doors that connect with the outdoor pool and landscaped al fresco entertainment area.
